1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the TutorKamun website and online tutoring platform (together, the "Platform"), operated by TUTORKAMUN LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17200265, incorporated 5 May 2026), with registered office address at Bartle House, 9 Oxford Court, Manchester, England, M2 3WQ ("we", "us", "our").
By registering for an account, purchasing credit bundles, or using any part of the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Platform.
If you are registering on behalf of a child under the age of 18, you (as the parent or legal guardian) agree to these Terms on the child's behalf, manage the Family Wallet, and accept full legal responsibility for their use of the Platform.

2. Definitions
In these Terms, the following terms shall have the meanings set out below:

| Tutor | An independent educator registered on the Platform to provide 1:1, group, or masterclass tutoring. |
| Parent/Guardian | An adult responsible for a Student under 18 who manages account permissions and credit purchasing. |
| Credits | The digital unit of exchange used to book sessions and access services on the Platform (1 Credit = £0.10 GBP base rate). |
| Family Wallet | The unified credit balance managed by a Parent or adult Student from which lesson fees are deducted. |
| Credit Bundle | A package of Credits topped up via Stripe Checkout, which may include promotional bonus credits. |
| AI-Led Session | An interactive, self-paced educational module guided by AI tutors, structured lesson plans, and dynamic whiteboards. |
| Session | A scheduled 1:1 lesson, group masterclass, or self-paced AI module conducted on the Platform. |
| Account | A registered user profile held by a Student, Parent/Guardian, or Tutor. |
| Content | Any text, audio, video, transcripts, whiteboard drawings, lesson plans, or assets shared on the Platform. |
3. Eligibility and Tutor Verification
3.1 Students and Parents/Guardians
- You must be at least 18 years old to create a primary user account or purchase Credit Bundles.
- If a Student is under 18, a Parent or Guardian must create the account, add the child profile, and manage the Family Wallet.
- You warrant that all information provided during registration is true, complete, and accurate.
3.2 Tutor Onboarding & Mandatory DBS Verification Stages
To safeguard our learning community, all Tutors must complete a mandatory 5-stage onboarding verification workflow prior to offering tutoring services:
- Country & Identity Validation: Verification of UK right-to-work status or valid residency in an approved jurisdiction.
- Enhanced DBS Certification: Upload of an official, valid Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate (or equivalent official police check).
- Safeguarding & Qualifications: Submission of identity documentation, teaching credentials, and safeguarding compliance agreement.
- Stripe Express Payout Setup: Completion of Stripe Connect onboarding to enable secure tutor payouts.
- Admin Review & Activation: Thorough manual review by TutorKamun administrators.
Tutor accounts remain strictly in PENDING status until DBS documents are verified (VALID) and approved by an administrator. Unverified tutors cannot set availability patterns, accept session bookings, or enter LiveKit video rooms.
4. Account Registration and Security
- You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and for all activities conducted through your Family Wallet.
- You must notify us immediately at security@tutorkamun.com if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
- You may not transfer, sell, or share your account access with third parties.
5. Platform Services
5.1 Scope of Services
TutorKamun provides a technology platform facilitating 1:1 online tutoring, group masterclasses, interactive whiteboard sessions, and self-paced AI-Led Sessions.
5.2 Independent Contractor Status
Tutors operate as independent contractors and are not employees, partners, or agents of TutorKamun Ltd. We do not guarantee specific academic grades or exam results.
6. Booking, Rescheduling, and Cancellation
6.1 Session Confirmation
Sessions are booked through the Platform interface. Upon confirmation, the required Credits are reserved or debited from your Family Wallet.
6.2 Cancellation by Students / Parents
- Notice of 24 Hours or More: Cancellations made at least 24 hours prior to session start will receive a 100% Credit refund returned automatically to your Family Wallet.
- Notice Under 24 Hours: Cancellations made within 24 hours of session start forfeit session Credits, unless the Tutor grants a discretionary refund via the Platform interface.
- No-Shows: If neither student nor parent joins within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time, the session is marked as a no-show and Credits are charged in full.
6.3 Cancellation by Tutors
- Tutors may cancel a session when necessary. If a Tutor cancels a session at any time (including short-notice cancellations within 24 hours), 100% of Credits are immediately refunded to the student/parent Family Wallet.
- Short-notice Tutor cancellations are logged and audited to maintain platform quality standards.
6.4 2-Hour Rescheduling Cutoff
Online session rescheduling requests can be submitted via the Platform up to 2 hours prior to session start. Within 2 hours of session start, rescheduling functionality is locked and disabled; only session cancellation rules apply.
7. Fees, Family Wallet, and Credit Economy
7.1 The Credit Economy
TutorKamun operates a unified credit economy. Platform services, 1:1 sessions, masterclasses, and AI-led tools are priced in Credits. The nominal base valuation of Credits is:
7.2 Credit Bundles & Stripe Payments
Users top up their Family Wallet by purchasing Credit Bundles via Stripe Checkout. Payment is processed immediately upon purchase. Purchased Credits remain in your Family Wallet until consumed and do not expire while your account remains active.
7.3 Account Closure & Credit Refunds (Section 15.1 Alignment)
If you close your account under Section 15.1, any unspent purchased Credits remaining in your Family Wallet will be calculated pro-rata based on your actual purchase price and refunded to your original Stripe payment method within 5–10 business days. Promotional or bonus credits issued free of charge are non-refundable.
8. UK Consumer Rights — Statutory Right to Cancel
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, consumer users booking services or purchasing digital Credit Bundles have the right to cancel their purchase within 14 days of transaction without giving any reason (the "Cooling-off Period").
If you consume Credits for tutoring sessions during the 14-day Cooling-off Period and subsequently exercise your right to cancel, a pro-rata deduction corresponding to the Credits consumed will be made from your refund.

9. Conduct and Safeguarding
We operate a strict child safeguarding and code of conduct policy:
- All communications between Tutors, Students, and Parents must take place exclusively through the Platform's messaging interface.
- Off-platform contact, exchange of private social handles, or arrangement of external lessons is strictly prohibited.
- Safeguarding concerns must be reported immediately to safeguarding@tutorkamun.com.
10. Non-Solicitation and Off-Platform Restriction
You agree not to solicit, arrange, or engage in tutoring sessions outside of the Platform with any Tutor or Student introduced to you via TutorKamun for a period of 12 months following your last session on the Platform.
11. Intellectual Property, AI Features & Data Consent
11.1 Proprietary Content
All software, logos, interactive whiteboards, AI models, and educational content on TutorKamun remain the property of TutorKamun Ltd or its licensors.
11.2 AI Features & Session Summaries
The Platform incorporates AI tools providing automated session summaries, smart whiteboard replays, and self-paced AI-Led Sessions. AI-generated insights are provided for educational assistance and revision.
11.3 Session Recordings, Transcripts & Dual Consent
LiveKit audio/video sessions may generate recordings or transcripts for student review, AI summary generation, and safeguarding assurance. Recording and transcript generation are subject to explicit dual-consent toggles presented to both Tutor and Student/Parent before session entry.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate financial liability in connection with any claim shall not exceed the total monetary sum paid by you for Credits in the 3 months preceding the event giving rise to liability. Nothing limits liability for death, personal injury, or statutory consumer rights.
15. Account Closure
You may close your account at any time. Upon account deletion, any unspent purchased Credits in your Family Wallet will be refunded pro-rata to your payment method in accordance with Section 7.3 prior to permanent data purging.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
